Lake of Gennesaret |
Lake of GennesaretLake of Gennesaret, also known as Sea of Galilee and Sea of Tiberias, is actually a lake on the Jordan River about 80 miles north of Jerusalem. Lake of Gennesaret / Sea of Galilee is where the Bible says Peter fished, Jesus walked and calmed the storm. Only 35 miles in circumference, this picturesque lake is small enough for you to rent a bicycle and peddle around in a day. However, many of the Biblical sites are tough to reach by bus or bicycle, so those on a tight schedule may wish to rent a car. Travel Tip
